If you are accessing the Website or using IIA's services on behalf of a legal entity, you warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these T&C. If you do not agree with any part of these T&C, you must immediately cease using the Website and IIA's services.

Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Website, submit personal data, register for IIA programmes, or enter into any commercial arrangement with IIA. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or similar technologies to extract data from the Website without IIA's prior written consent;

  • Reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, or create derivative works from IIA's content, trademarks, or proprietary materials without IIA's express prior written consent;

Intellectual Property Rights

All content published on or accessible through the Website — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, video materials, research reports, policy papers, programme documentation, marketing materials, the IIA brand and identity (including the "Invest in ASEAN", "11,000 ASEAN Women", "11,000 ASEAN NextGen", "ASEAN Nation Week", "11,000 ASEAN SMEs", "11,000 ASEAN GameChanger" and "11,000 ASEAN Creators",, names and associated marks), website design, code, and architecture — is the exclusive intellectual property of Invest in ASEAN or its licensors and is protected under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (UK), the Intellectual Property (Enforcement, etc.) Regulations 2006, and applicable international intellectual property treaties.

Permitted Use of IIA Content

You may access and view the Website's content for personal, non-commercial, informational purposes. You may share links to IIA content on social media or in correspondence, provided that IIA is clearly attributed and no misrepresentation of IIA's position or identity is made. You may not reproduce, republish, transmit, or commercially exploit IIA content without IIA's express prior written consent.

Third-Party Content

Where IIA reproduces or references third-party content (including reports by McKinsey & Company, the World Economic Forum, IFC, Goldman Sachs, the ASEAN Foundation, the OECD, or UK Government publications), such content remains the intellectual property of its original owners. IIA makes no claim of ownership over such materials and relies on fair dealing and appropriate attribution in their use.

Feedback and Ideas

If you submit feedback, suggestions, ideas, or other communications to IIA regarding the Website or its programmes, you grant IIA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish such submissions for any purpose without compensation to you, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Sponsorship & Partnership Terms

Sponsorship arrangements between IIA and corporate or institutional sponsors ("Sponsors") are governed by a separate written Sponsorship Agreement, which will be provided to and executed by both parties prior to any financial commitment. These T&C apply to the Sponsor's use of IIA's Website and communications and are supplemental to the Sponsorship Agreement, which takes precedence in the event of any conflict.

Anti-Bribery and Financial Crime Compliance

All commercial relationships with IIA are subject to compliance with the UK Bribery Act 2010, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017, and all applicable sanctions regimes administered by the UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) and, where relevant, the EU and US equivalents. IIA conducts due diligence on all commercial partners as required under applicable anti-money laundering legislation. By entering into a commercial relationship with IIA, partners confirm that they are not subject to applicable sanctions and that funds committed to IIA are from legitimate sources.

Partnership Representations

IIA does not confer endorsement of any commercial partner's products, services, or positions by virtue of a sponsorship or partnership arrangement unless explicitly agreed in writing. Partners may reference their association with IIA using approved language provided by IIA at the outset of the partnership. Any deviation from approved language or any representation that overstates the nature or scope of the partnership requires IIA's prior written approval.

ESG and Ethical Standards

IIA is committed to ethical, purpose-led operations aligned with international ESG standards. IIA reserves the right to decline, suspend, or terminate a sponsorship or partnership arrangement if it determines, at its reasonable discretion, that the partner's conduct, values, or public position is materially inconsistent with IIA's mission, the interests of its programme participants, or applicable law.

User Submissions & Accuracy of Information

Where the Website permits you to submit information — including via contact forms, programme registration forms, newsletter subscription forms, or the IIA 11,000 Women Join form — you are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is accurate, complete, and not misleading. IIA will process submitted information in accordance with its Privacy Policy (Section 8 below).

IIA does not accept unsolicited investment proposals, business plans, or confidential commercial information through the Website. Any such materials submitted without a prior written non-disclosure agreement will not be treated as confidential and may be used by IIA at its discretion.

IIA is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of information submitted by third parties and does not verify the credentials of Website visitors, programme applicants, or enquirers prior to initial contact.

Privacy & Data Protection

Invest in ASEAN is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all individuals who interact with its Website, programmes, and communications. IIA processes personal data in accordance with:

  • The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), as retained in UK law pursuant to Section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018;

  • The Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018);

  • The EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), to the extent that IIA processes personal data of individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA);

  • The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended;

  • All other applicable UK and international data protection legislation.

Personal Data IIA Collects

IIA may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity data: full name, job title, professional biography;

  • Contact data: email address, telephone number, postal address, organisation;

  • Professional data: employment history, qualifications, sector, career stage (as provided in programme applications);

  • Demographic data: nationality, country of origin, country of residence (for programme eligibility assessment — collected with explicit consent);

  • Communications data: records of correspondence with IIA, responses to IIA's communications, event attendance history;

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, time zone, operating system, device type, cookie identifiers (see Section 10);

  • Usage data: pages visited, links clicked, time spent on pages, referral URLs.

IIA does not intentionally collect special category data (as defined under UK/EU GDPR Article 9 — including racial or ethnic origin, health data, sexual orientation, or religious belief) through the Website. Where such data is incidentally provided in programme applications or correspondence, IIA will process it only with the individual's explicit consent and for the specific purpose stated at the time of collection.

Marketing Communications & PECR Compliance

IIA sends marketing communications — including newsletters, programme updates, event invitations, policy briefings, and sponsorship opportunities — by email and other electronic means.

Consent and Opt-In

In accordance with PECR Regulation 22, IIA will only send marketing emails to individuals who have provided prior, specific, and informed consent to receive such communications, except where the "soft opt-in" exemption applies. The soft opt-in applies where: (i) you have previously engaged with IIA (e.g., enquired about a programme, attended an event, or submitted a registration form); (ii) IIA is marketing similar services to those that formed the basis of your previous engagement; and (iii) you were given a clear opportunity to opt out of marketing at the time your contact details were collected and have not subsequently done so.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of IIA's marketing communications at any time by:

  • Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any IIA marketing email;

  • Emailing unsubscribe@investinasean.com;

  • Exercising your right to object under UK GDPR Article 21 (see Section 8 above).

IIA will action all opt-out requests within five working days. Opting out of marketing communications does not affect IIA's ability to send service communications (e.g., programme updates directly relevant to your participation, event logistics, or contractual communications).

EU Residents

Where IIA sends marketing communications to individuals in EU member states, IIA complies with the requirements of the EU GDPR and the applicable national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive in that member state. For EU residents, IIA relies solely on consent as the lawful basis for direct marketing communications.

Third-Party Links & External Services

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, resources, publications, or platforms — including but not limited to government websites (UK Government, ASEAN Secretariat, EU institutions and others), institutional partners (BritCham Vietnam, ASEAN Foundation, Bloomberg and others), academic sources (McKinsey Global Institute, WEF, OECD and others), and professional service providers.

IIA provides these links for informational purposes only and does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any linked third-party website. Your access to and use of third-party websites is governed by those websites' own terms and conditions and privacy policies, which IIA encourages you to review before accessing.

IIA accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, content available on third-party websites linked from the IIA Website.

Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

While IIA takes reasonable steps to ensure accuracy, it does not warrant that the Website's content is complete, current, or free of errors. Nothing on the Website constitutes legal, financial, investment, regulatory, or professional advice. You should obtain appropriate professional advice before acting on any information on the Website.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IIA, its directors, officers, employees, advisers, programme partners, and institutional affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive loss or damage arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the Website;

  • Reliance on any content, information, or material published on the Website;

  • Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Website;

  • Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data transmitted through the Website;

  • Your participation in, or exclusion from, IIA programmes or events;

  • Any commercial decisions made in reliance on IIA's publications, research, or communications.

Nothing in these T&C limits or excludes IIA's liability for death or personal injury caused by IIA's negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Consumer Rights

Where you are a consumer within the meaning of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, nothing in these T&C affects your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Invest in ASEAN, its directors, officers, employees, advisers, programme partners, institutional affiliates, and successors and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your breach of any provision of these T&C;

  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Website;

  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property right, privacy right, or other right;

  • Any material misrepresentation made by you in a programme application, registration form, or commercial communication with IIA.

Amendments to These Terms

IIA reserves the right to amend these T&C at any time to reflect changes in law, IIA's operations, or best practice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. IIA will take reasonable steps to notify registered programme participants and newsletter subscribers of material changes by email prior to those changes taking effect.

Your continued use of the Website following the publication of revised T&C constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the revised T&C, you must immediately cease using the Website and notify IIA at legal@investinasean.com if you wish to exercise any rights in connection with the change.
